Peter N. Yiannos, Ph.D.

Born in Ayos Sostis of Olympia (Peloponnesos) in 1932 Immigrated to the US in 1951 as a Displaced Person under The Truman Doctrine, sponsored by his maternal uncle Peter Valos of Alton, IL.

Studied Chemical Engineering at the Univ. of Missouri and did graduate work in Wisconsin, receiving a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Lawrence U. (The Institute of Paper Science and Technology).

Worked for 35 years for Scott Paper in Philadelphia as a professional and R&D manager, retiring early in 1994 from the position of VP in Technology.

Numerous Publications in technical Journals, including a number of patents, as well as publications in non-technical journals.

Is an active member of the American Hellenic Institute, the Hellenic University Club of Wilmington, AHEPA, the Hellenic Community of Wilmington and other Hellenic American organizations.

He is still semi-active in a number of professional and Technical associations. He and his wife Stella reside in Wilmington, DE, and Ocean City, NJ, have 3 children (two sons and a daughter), all married with families and blessed with seven grandchildren.
